Anne W. Burrell has been a chef and television host in America and a teacher at Institute of Culinary Education. Anne Burrell. Burrell is the host of Secrets of a Restaurant Chef on the Food Network, as well as co-host of Worst Cooks in America. Anne Burrell's Food Network show Secrets of a Restaurant chef, with her trademark hairstyle and her pumped up personality, explains simple techniques that anybody can learn. Chef Burrell also has worked in the top New York restaurants, has learned about Italian food, its culture and traditions, and was a contestant on Food Network's Iron Chef America. When she was a kid in Upstate New York Chef Burrell was infatuated by food. The Culinary Institute of America is where she enrolled to earn an English diploma and Communications certificate from Canisius College Buffalo NY. The Culinary Institute of America was a fantastic experience. I was unable to learn enough, didn't accomplish enough, and I couldn't put in the effort enough. After graduation, Burrell spent one year learning at the Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners as well as working at Umbria's La Taverna del Lupo as well as Tuscany's La Bottega del 30, a Michelin-starred restaurant. Her time spent in Italy helped her to understand and appreciate Italian tradition and philosophy, and this has left an impact on her own culinary perspective. Burrell served as a member of the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board that aims to make a difference in the lives of kids facing problems. Burrell is also an Juvenile Research Foundation Celebrity Ambassador where she advocates for awareness of children with diabetes. In her capacity as a guest speaker and mentor she travels across the US to talk about her culinary passion and professional career. Anne was always grateful that she could share the passion that she had for cooking with others.
